About The Resilient Dandelion

Our Mission

At The Resilient Dandelion, our mission is to help those who have been bullied stand up again. Our founder, Yoon Kim, experienced bullying from 4th grade onward, which led to low self-esteem and confidence. Despite this, Yoon was fortunate to have supportive friends, teachers, and parents who listened and encouraged her throughout her journey.

Yoon envisioned a place where people could share their stories, seek advice, find sympathy, and connect with others who understand their struggles. Recognizing the importance of resilience in overcoming bullying, she founded The Resilient Dandelion.

Why The Dandelion?

Dandelions are often seen as weeds, unwanted and overlooked. But they're actually incredibly resilient plants that can grow almost anywhere, in any condition. They push through concrete, survive harsh weather, and spread seeds of hope wherever the wind takes them. This mirrors the journey of many who have faced bullying – appearing vulnerable but possessing incredible inner strength and the ability to help others grow.

Our logo features a yellow dandelion, a symbol of resilience. No matter how often a dandelion is stepped on, it always grows back. This embodies the spirit of our mission.

The dandelion in our logo has 12 yellow petals, representing the age of our founder when she began her journey of resilience. The spreading seeds of the dandelion symbolize the resilience we aim to inspire in bullying victims and survivors worldwide.
